Associate/Principal Mechanical Engineer (Treatment Plants)

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and analysis of mechanical options for wastewater and desalination projects, ensuring risks are mitigated and design standards are upheld
• Prepare equipment layouts, civil outline drawings, and technical specifications for piping and valves
• Perform hydraulic calculations, pump head calculations, and blower head calculations
• Manage the RFQ process for bought-out and package items, including technical bid evaluations and manufacturing clearances
• Design and prepare fabrication skid drawings, such as UF Module racks and RO skids
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams including Process, Civil, Electrical, and Instrumentation
• Manage design risks and ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) systems and CDM responsibilities
• Oversee the preparation of MTOs, erection BOMs, and as-built drawings

Requirements

• BE or M Tech in Mechanical Engineering
• Significant experience in leading and checking mechanical design projects for treatment plants
• Professional qualification such as MIMechE, MIET, or equivalent (or actively working towards it)
• Detailed knowledge of the engineering design process and technical design standards
• Strong understanding of project commercial issues and constraints
• Proven appreciation of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) systems and procedures
• Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, or Bentley ProjectWise
