Associate/Principal Civil Engineer (Treatment Plant)

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery and project coordination for complex water and wastewater treatment projects across multiple disciplines
• Produce and review technical deliverables, including hydraulic, structural, and carbon engineering calculations
• Manage the design process from feasibility and concept through to detailed design and construction
• Oversee the production of site-wide layouts, general arrangement drawings, and underground piping designs
• Support Civil Discipline leads in driving excellence in Health & Safety and CDM Regulations compliance
• Mentor junior engineers and manage project programmes, costs, and resources to ensure timely delivery
• Maintain close coordination with multidisciplinary teams to manage interfaces and share best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's in Civil or Environmental Engineering preferred)
• 12-15+ years of experience in engineering design with increasing levels of responsibility
• Strong technical knowledge of water/wastewater process units, pumping stations, and hydraulics
• Proficiency in industry software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and Navisworks
• Experience working on complex multidisciplinary projects in an international design consultancy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage client relationships

Preferred Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer status (ICE/CIWEM) or actively working towards professional qualification
• Experience with UK municipal projects or water/wastewater sectors in Southeast Asia, Pacific, US, or Middle East
• Familiarity with British, Euro, and other international engineering standards
• Experience in preparing fee proposals and bid submissions
