Associate Principal, AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define reference architectures, design patterns, and platform standards for AI-enabled enterprise applications.
• Architect Generative AI solutions including RAG systems, multi-agent workflows, and conversational interfaces.
• Develop multi-year technology roadmaps in partnership with Principal Architects and business stakeholders.
• Establish MLOps and LLMOps practices for model deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Design cloud-native solutions on Azure or AWS, leveraging managed AI services and infrastructure-as-code.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to distributed engineering teams, including backend, ML, and UI developers.
• Evaluate emerging technologies such as foundation models, vector databases, and agentic frameworks for actionable adoption.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering.
• 5+ years in architecture or senior technical leadership roles.
• Deep hands-on expertise in Python and Java ecosystems (e.g., Spring Boot, microservices).
• Proven experience architecting and deploying production-grade Generative AI and RAG systems.
• Strong proficiency in major cloud platforms, specifically Azure or AWS.
• Experience leading distributed engineering teams of 15 or more members.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, or CrewAI.
• Familiarity with Voice AI and conversational AI platforms (ASR, TTS, dialog management).
• Background in commerce platforms or industrial/B2B e-commerce environments.
• Exposure to modern data architectures including Snowflake, Databricks, or vector stores.
• Industry certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS Solutions Architect Professional.
