About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic pricing engagements, including annual updates, new propositions, and innovative business model development.
- Own the implementation of pricing strategies for subscription journals, transformative agreements, eBooks, and Open Books.
- Develop and implement advanced AI algorithms and machine learning tools to optimize pricing and predict market trends.
- Design and deploy automated systems for pricing updates, performance tracking, and competitive benchmarking.
- Define and track key pricing metrics to ensure data-driven decision-making across the Academic Division.
- Manage cross-functional relationships with Editorial, Commercial, and Marketing teams to align pricing with product positioning.
- Provide regular status reports and strategic briefings to the Executive Leadership Team.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in developing and implementing impactful pricing strategies that drive revenue growth.
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in SQL, Python, and R.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
- Strong bias towards AI, automation, and machine learning to streamline pricing processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence stakeholders across diverse teams without direct authority.
- Experience leading the development of pricing strategies within the data or information services industry.
- Proven track record of executing global initiatives across multiple countries and regions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the pricing function of an Academic Publisher.
- Background in a niche strategic pricing consultancy or an in-house Strategic Pricing Team.
