Associate Patient Care Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Greet patients upon arrival and manage wait times effectively
• Complete check-in and check-out tasks, including insurance verification and pre-authorizations
• Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issue receipts
• Answer telephone calls, schedule appointments, and redirect inquiries as appropriate
• Manage medical records by maintaining, filing, and scanning documents
• Assist patients with completing required paperwork such as health history and insurance documentation
• Connect patients with community resources and social services to promote self-care
• Maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years of customer service or healthcare experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience working in a medical office position
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience working with electronic health records (ECW)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
• Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans
