About the role

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in/out patients in a professional and courteous manner
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information
  • Collect outstanding balances, co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurances
  • Schedule future appointments and manage patient medical forms
  • Maintain medical records through filing, faxing, and scanning
  • Perform general clerical duties including mail sorting and work queue management
  • Reconcile cash drawer daily and follow payment security policies
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all practice policies

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of customer service or healthcare-related experience
  • 1+ year of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to work a 40-hour work week including rotating holidays and weekends (Saturdays and Sundays)
  • Flexibility to provide coverage at other locations when necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in a medical office role (scheduling, insurance verification, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR), specifically eClinicalWorks (eCW)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Familiarity with insurance carriers and managed care plans
