About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide patient-oriented service in a clinical or front office setting
- Complete the registration process by collecting patient demographics and health information
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and create price estimates
- Process referrals, pre-certifications, and pre-authorizations according to insurance requirements
- Collect patient co-pays and discuss out-of-pocket financial obligations
- Enter and verify patient data in real-time using computer systems to ensure accuracy
- Respond to patient and caregiver inquiries with compassion and respect
- Generate and analyze patient data reports to follow up on inconsistencies
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years of customer service experience (hospital, office, or phone support setting)
- Ability to work specific night shifts: Monday-Wednesday 6pm-6am and Thursday 6pm-12am
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a medical setting, physician office, or hospital registration department
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and insurance policies
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Experience in insurance reimbursement, financial verification, or processing payments
- Ability to perform basic mathematics for financial transactions
