About the role
Responsibilities
- Execute engineering work products from requirements through verification and technical documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware, software, and operational constraints
- Conduct technical analysis, risk identification, and trade studies to support design decisions
- Design, layout, test, and evaluate mechanical and electro-mechanical devices or subsystems
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis to validate design robustness and reliability
- Develop detailed mechanical models, layouts, and design packages for prototype and production
- Support prototype build, test, issue resolution, and transition to production
- Travel up to 25% to support integration, test, and customer engagement
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years with a graduate degree
- Experience with mechanical modeling and design workflows in Creo 10
- Experience with environmental and qualification testing (e.g., MIL-STD-810)
- Experience with design-for-manufacture and design-for-assembly practices
- Experience in root-cause analysis and corrective-action implementation
