Associate, Mechanical Engineer (Design)

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design of detailed parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment, and mechanical systems.
• Conduct research and develop layouts to prepare engineering drawings.
• Coordinate design activities with Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure cost-effective requirements.
• Utilize 3D solid modeling CAD tools to complete designs alongside senior-level engineers.
• Work within aircraft hangar environments, including the ability to walk the flight line and board/exit aircraft.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or 4+ years of relevant design experience in lieu of a degree).
• 0-2 years of experience designing parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures or mechanical systems.
• Minimum 2 years of CAD skills (proficiency in NX/Unigraphics, ProE, or Catia).
• US citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite and excellent written/verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active DoD security clearance.
