Associate Mechanical Design

Responsibilities

• Design bakery equipment and oven systems according to GEA standards, customer specifications, and international regulations.
• Develop custom designs by utilizing standardized GEA solutions.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for manufacturing, sales layouts, and site installation.
• Generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) and perform material take-offs.
• Prepare technical specifications for procurement to ensure correct item ordering.
• Collaborate closely with project managers and design engineers to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
• Transfer technical knowledge and best practices to stakeholders and colleagues to drive innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–8 years of professional experience in mechanical design.
• Proficiency in CAD systems, specifically Inventor, Vault Pro, and AutoCAD-Mechanical.
• Experience in designing bakery ovens, industrial machinery, or sheet metal components.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of conveyor systems (steel belt, wire mesh), thermal zones, and airflow/ducting.
• Understanding of mechanical component design and machine design.
• Ability to read and interpret approved design specification documents.
• Knowledge of the Italian language is an added advantage.
