About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and refining CAD models and technical drawings for specific subsystems
  • Contribute to drawing release packages, ensuring document control and compliance with internal standards
  • Participate in the hands-on build of mock-ups and prototype instruments, supporting mechanical assembly and integration
  • Conduct precision mechanical measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other gauges
  • Collect and analyse measurement data from hardware and software tools to support verification reports
  • Support investigations into test anomalies or performance deviations through root cause analysis
  • Design and fabricate simple mechanical or electromechanical test fixtures using CAD and 3D printing
  • Apply engineering science and design calculations to predict system performance and optimize designs

Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering or a related undergraduate degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in similar engineering roles
  • Strong proficiency in CAD, prototyping, and testing methodologies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and technical documentation abilities
  • Must have the right to live and work in Australia (no visa sponsorship provided)
