About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the entire Surface Mount Technology (SMT) process, including setup, programming, and troubleshooting of PCB assembly equipment.
- Utilize lean manufacturing tools to recommend improvements in production methods, tooling, equipment, and performance efficiency.
- Develop preventive maintenance plans and provide troubleshooting support for SMT machines.
- Design and modify solder paste stencils and other SMT tooling or shop aids.
- Configure and optimize SMT machines for building electronic assemblies and new designs.
- Develop SMT rework thermal profiles to perform repair of electronic assemblies.
- Execute Statistical Process Control (SPC) for manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality standards.
- Facilitate collaboration between engineering and manufacturing teams to provide feedback for design improvements.
Requirements
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance (Secret Clearance required post-start).
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and Surface Mount Technology (SMT).
- 1+ years of experience working with SMT machines such as Solder Paste Printers, Pick and Place, Reflow Ovens, and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI).
- Experience with IPC and J-STD-001 standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and operation manuals.

- 3+ years of related work experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency with problem-solving tools to improve processes and eliminate defects.
