About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary Manufacturing Engineering contact for a production cell, troubleshooting mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electro-optical issues.
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including assembly procedures, Work Instructions, and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) authoring.
- Develop manufacturing processes and procedures, including PFMEA, SPC, control plans, tooling, and test procedures.
- Conduct 8D root cause analysis to resolve production issues and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Participate in daily cell standup and MRB meetings to support the closure of NCRs and disposition of non-conforming material.
- Review engineering and production change requests to assess impact on process, product flow, and quality.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
Requirements
- University degree or a 3-year College diploma in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Proven manufacturing engineering experience in a high-tech assembly environment.
- Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical manufacturing, systems, and process engineering.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Proficiency in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Excellent technical communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail and the ability to solve problems in real-time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of or experience with AS9100 standards.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks, Composer, or AutoCAD.
