Associate Manager, Materials and Process Engineering (Chemistry Lab)

Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, and review the work of Engineers and Technicians in a laboratory setting
• Provide input on hiring, firing, promotion, and compensation decisions
• Establish goals and objectives to improve processes and enhance operational efficiency
• Sample and test raw materials, propellants, explosives, and other materials
• Operate and maintain complex lab instrumentation including FTIR, HPLC, DSC, and titrators
• Review submitted test data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
• Approve test reports and review laboratory documentation such as test and calibration procedures
• Perform laboratory support tasks including instrument set-up, calibration, inventory, and inspections

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years of prior related chemistry lab experience
• OR Graduate Degree with 4 years of prior related chemistry lab experience
• OR 10 years of prior related chemistry lab experience in lieu of a degree
• Knowledge of lab instrumentation such as FTIR, HPLC, and DSC
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of testing explosives and energetic materials
