About the role
Responsibilities
- Interpret and implement cross-border regulatory frameworks including FEMA, RBI Master Directions, and LRS.
- Provide regulatory advisory on inbound/outbound remittances, merchant collections, and FX conversion models.
- Track regulatory developments and conduct impact assessments for new RBI circulars and FEMA notifications.
- Partner with Product and Business teams to embed compliance-by-design into cross-border product launches.
- Design and implement regulatory controls, including transaction flow controls and reporting frameworks.
- Support regulatory inspections, audits, and supervisory interactions.
- Manage stakeholder communication by translating complex regulations into practical business solutions.
Requirements
- 5–6 years of regulatory compliance experience within payments, fintech, banking, or regulated financial services.
- Strong working knowledge of FEMA, RBI Master Directions, and cross-border payment regulations.
- Deep understanding of FX and remittance frameworks, including LRS and export/import guidelines.
- Proven experience working with cross-functional teams such as Product, Legal, Risk, and Treasury.
- Hands-on experience in regulatory interpretation, advisory, and implementation.
- Ability to balance regulatory risk with commercial business objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a global or multinational organization.
- Exposure to Payment Aggregators, AD-II entities, or card networks.
- Experience launching new cross-border products or regulated use cases.
- Professional certifications such as CA, CIA, MBA, LLB, or CAMS.
