Associate Librarian

Responsibilities

• Lead circulation functions including data reporting and managing overdues
• Catalog and physically process library materials such as books, audiobooks, and ebooks
• Supervise library spaces used by students and adults
• Provide basic research assistance to students using academic databases like JSTOR and Google Scholar
• Maintain library collections through inventory, shelf reading, and weeding
• Create topical displays and promotional materials to encourage reading
• Manage student behavior and supervise library volunteers

Requirements

• Completion of library program coursework or equivalent practical experience
• Recent experience with library databases and reference tools
• Experience with classroom management for teenagers in an educational setting
• Ability to lift 25 pounds and perform physical tasks like bending and kneeling

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MARC record copy cataloging for various media formats
