About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach up to four sections (12 credits) of first-year composition or ESL courses on a periodic basis
- Follow standard departmental policies regarding instruction and course coordination in multi-section classes
- Support student development of writing knowledge and practice through the curriculum's learning goals
- Engage with diverse student populations, including multilingual students in the English as a Second Language Program
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD/PhD candidacy in rhetoric and composition, English, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in instruction
- Experience teaching postsecondary academic writing
- Success working with diverse student populations
Preferred Qualifications
- Documented record of excellence in teaching postsecondary academic writing
- Expertise in teaching ESL or multilingual students
- Professional or graduate training in working with multilingual students
Benefits
- Per-course rate of $6,000 (effective September 1, 2026)
