About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach up to four sections (12 credits) of first-year composition or ESL courses on a periodic basis
  • Follow standard departmental policies regarding instruction and course coordination in multi-section classes
  • Support student development of writing knowledge and practice through the curriculum's learning goals
  • Engage with diverse student populations, including multilingual students in the English as a Second Language Program

Requirements

  • Master's degree or PhD/PhD candidacy in rhetoric and composition, English, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in instruction
  • Experience teaching postsecondary academic writing
  • Success working with diverse student populations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Documented record of excellence in teaching postsecondary academic writing
  • Expertise in teaching ESL or multilingual students
  • Professional or graduate training in working with multilingual students

Benefits

  • Per-course rate of $6,000 (effective September 1, 2026)
