Associate Lead Database Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of SQL Server Database Engineers
• Oversee health, performance, and availability of enterprise-scale SQL Server environments
• Architect and maintain HA/DR solutions using Always On and clustering
• Drive automation of routine operational tasks
• Review and tune queries, indexes, and server configurations
• Collaborate with developers on database code and schema designs
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical incidents

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration and development
• Proven experience leading or mentoring Database Engineers
• Expert understanding of SQL Server internals and performance tuning
• Experience with HA/DR design and multi-data center solutions
• Proficiency with database deployment automation and source control
• Advanced T-SQL and query optimization expertise
• Experience with PowerBI, SSRS, SSIS, or ETL workflows

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with .NET/C# or application development
• Experience with SQL Sentry or SolarWinds DPA
• Knowledge of Splunk, Datadog, or similar observability platforms
• Experience in CI/CD environments and database-as-code practices
