About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform high and moderate complexity laboratory testing on clinical and environmental specimens
- Use manual and automated methods within BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories
- Assist lab supervisors with routine operations and administrative tasks
- Generate reports, maintain records, and perform data entry using Laboratory Information Systems
- Maintain laboratory supplies and equipment using inventory tracking systems
- Support quality control and quality assurance programs
- Monitor biosafety and infection control programs
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree in medical technology or chemical, physical, or biological sciences
- One year of laboratory experience at the technologist level
- NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or eligibility
- Specific credit requirements in chemistry and biology as per NYS Education Law
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a clinical or environmental diagnostic testing laboratory
