Associate, Japanese Corporate Banking Department London Planning

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day administrative work associated with internal control requirements, including SOX testing, self-inspections, and updating credit condition information.
• Create, update, and submit internal reports to Head Office divisions, such as Asset Evaluation and VIE reporting, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder alignment.
• Maintain and update departmental manuals, including VIE and Action Plan manuals, to ensure all business promotion processes are documented and current.
• Contribute to ad-hoc projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and processes within the London office and the wider EMEA region.
• Oversee administrative workflows to support the Head of Division and Department Head in the effective running of the department.
• Develop and maintain effective professional relationships across the division, other EMEA branches, and the Head Office to facilitate collaborative working.
• Train and educate junior staff to strengthen organizational skills and departmental expertise.

Requirements

• Fluency in Japanese (both written and verbal) is essential.
• Degree level education or equivalent relevant industry expertise.
• Strong analytical skills with demonstrable accuracy in report creation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage large workloads and meet tight deadlines in a pressurized environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in business management or administration within a financial institution.
• Understanding of Japanese corporate banking business and a wide range of banking products.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Strong numerical, written, and verbal communication skills.
