Associate IP Professional

Responsibilities

• Analyze patents and non-patent literature to provide technical insights for innovation and risk mitigation
• Support the creation and management of strategic IP assets through novelty searches
• Perform clearance (FTO) analysis for new product introductions and provide recommendations to legal and technology teams
• Develop patent and technology landscapes to identify white spaces and technology roadmaps
• Conduct competitor watches and non-patent literature searches
• Collaborate with attorneys and technologists to support new product development

Requirements

• B. Tech or M. Tech / M.E in Mechanical, EE, CS, or E&TC Engineering
• 2-5 years of experience in FTO and novelty searches (including design searches in US, CA, and EP)
• Strong functional understanding of US IP Law concepts
• Proficiency in Excel, Macros, R, or Python
• Excellent analytical, presentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and meet tight timelines in a cross-functional environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Derwent or similar paid patent databases
• Exposure to AI-based IP analytics
• Experience in consumer products, automotive, or comparable industries
• Knowledge of Six Sigma or New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
• Certification in patent analysis (e.g., WON/GO, PRG) or status as a Certified Indian Patent Agent
