About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach a two-semester sequence of Physics Laboratory and provide lecture demonstration support for other courses.
- Assist in the planning, preparation, and instruction of experiments, including designing and modifying experiments for course inclusion.
- Supervise students during laboratory sessions and perform evaluations of lab reports and notebooks.
- Maintain and repair laboratory equipment, including performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting using electronic schematics.
- Coordinate with faculty to manage the purchase of supplies, equipment inventory, and laboratory safety activities.
- Support faculty by providing demonstrations on the use of laboratory equipment and assisting students with computer-interfaced testing equipment.
- Act as a liaison between technical support and faculty for equipment repairs and software upgrades.
Requirements
- M.S. degree in Physics or a related field.
- Ability to read and follow electronic schematics for equipment repair and troubleshooting.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring immigration sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Physics or a related field.
- Three or more years of professional experience in a similar role.
