About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach a two-semester sequence of Physics Laboratory and provide lecture demonstration support for other courses.
  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and instruction of experiments, including designing and modifying experiments for course inclusion.
  • Supervise students during laboratory sessions and perform evaluations of lab reports and notebooks.
  • Maintain and repair laboratory equipment, including performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting using electronic schematics.
  • Coordinate with faculty to manage the purchase of supplies, equipment inventory, and laboratory safety activities.
  • Support faculty by providing demonstrations on the use of laboratory equipment and assisting students with computer-interfaced testing equipment.
  • Act as a liaison between technical support and faculty for equipment repairs and software upgrades.

Requirements

  • M.S. degree in Physics or a related field.
  • Ability to read and follow electronic schematics for equipment repair and troubleshooting.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring immigration sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Physics or a related field.
  • Three or more years of professional experience in a similar role.
