About the role
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Head Men’s and Women’s Wrestling Coaching Instructor to implement practice and meet plans
- Lead elements of practices, including drills, one-on-one development, and game day responsibilities
- Coordinate the recruitment of prospective student-athletes and manage tracking through the Slate system
- Oversee the men’s wrestling budget, including purchasing and resource allocation
- Monitor student-athlete academic progress and ensure compliance with university and NCAA standards
- Manage administrative requirements such as travel arrangements, itineraries, and team rosters
- Supervise graduate assistants and part-time coaching staff as assigned
- Facilitate communication with faculty, academic advisors, parents, and athletic department staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of one (1) year of collegiate coaching experience or two (2) years of successful high school or club coaching experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Current CPR and AED certifications
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse constituencies
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution
- Two (2) years of collegiate coaching experience or four (4) years of high school/club coaching experience
- Demonstrated ability to motivate students and provide positive leadership
- Prior successful participation in wrestling at the high school, college, club, or professional level
