Associate Head Coach, Cross Country & Track and Field-Distance

Responsibilities

• Manage all facets of the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field programs in collaboration with the Head Coach
• Oversee distance and middle-distance athletes, including training, skill development, and weekly practice sessions
• Lead recruiting efforts to identify and attract academically qualified student-athletes
• Monitor student-athlete academic progress and ensure compliance with NCAA Division III, conference, and university regulations
• Coordinate team travel logistics, including transportation, lodging, and meals
• Manage administrative duties such as budget oversight, equipment needs, and facility scheduling
• Foster a diverse and inclusive team environment that supports both athletic and academic excellence
• Engage in alumni stewardship and fundraising activities to support program growth

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience in college-level coaching
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record (ability to drive passenger vans for team travel)
• Ability to work with diverse communities and constituents

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree
• Specific experience coaching collegiate cross country and distance events
• Previous collegiate playing experience
• Knowledge of NCAA and Little East Conference (LEC) bylaws and regulations
• Experience in managing fundraising activities and alumni relations
• Expertise in designing and implementing distance workouts in an urban setting
