About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert on assigned state policy and legislative matters, tracking newly proposed and effective laws and regulations.
- Prepare clear, concise, and user-friendly summaries and analyses of newly effective laws and regulations to assist with company implementation.
- Present priority legislative and regulatory policy developments to internal audiences in appropriate forums.
- Partner with legal counsel and cross-functional business partners to communicate legislative, regulatory, and subregulatory developments.
- Support sustainable processes to simplify team outputs while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Manage multiple, simultaneous assignments and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, political science, public policy, public administration, public health, or a related field.
- 3+ years of legal or regulatory experience, ideally within the health plan or managed care space.
- 2+ years of experience working with state political and legislative processes.
- 2+ years of experience using Westlaw, legislative tracking software, and Google Workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the Affordable Care Act and Healthcare.gov or other State Based Exchanges.
- Previous experience working within Oscar markets.
- Experience collaborating directly with attorneys and internal stakeholders.
