Associate, Government Affairs

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track policy developments relevant to Ares and the alternative investment management industry
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to support strategic decision making
• Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and written responses for engagements with policymakers, regulators, and investors
• Coordinate senior-level interactions with external stakeholders
• Collaborate with communications and investor relations teams to ensure alignment between government affairs strategies and firm objectives
• Support various strategic projects and teamwide responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 3+ years of experience in management consulting, investment management, investment banking, equity research, or related fields
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create content for diverse audiences
• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
• Strong analytical mindset with a commercial understanding of how policy impacts investment outcomes
