Associate, Governance & Controls

Responsibilities

• Manage and track regulatory, audit, and self-identified issues across Client Lifecycle Management (CLM), including monitoring remediation plans and milestones.
• Act as a central point of coordination for CLM issues management, identifying blockers and supporting necessary escalations.
• Support CLM governance forums by preparing materials, tracking actions, and ensuring accountability.
• Liaise with second-line Compliance, Risk Management, Financial Crime, and Audit teams to resolve issues and respond to assurance activities.
• Validate the completeness of remediation actions to ensure alignment with Operational Risk Control standards.
• Produce accurate management information and presentations regarding CLM issues, controls, and risk assessments.
• Support the identification and mitigation of operational risks through participation in risk assessments and control effectiveness reviews.
• Contribute to the development and embedding of a consistent CLM governance and controls framework.

Requirements

• Relevant experience within Client Lifecycle Management (CLM), Operations, Client Onboarding, or a related first-line control/governance function in financial services.
• Proven experience supporting issue management, remediation, or controls activities.
• Strong understanding of first-line controls, issue management, and governance frameworks.
• Ability to interpret policies and apply control requirements pragmatically to business processes.
• Structured and analytical approach to problem-solving and root cause identification.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to internal governance forums, audits, reviews, or control testing activities.
• Experience supporting the development or enhancement of issues management, controls, or governance processes.
