Associate General Counsel

Responsibilities

• Lead compliance with third-party and government requests for user data and support the Law Enforcement Operations team
• Advise Trust & Safety, Product, and Engineering teams on platform safety regulations, including the EU Digital Services Act and UK Online Safety Act
• Collaborate cross-functionally to develop policies and tools that meet evolving regulatory and legislative requirements
• Work with outside counsel to defend against improper attempts to obtain user data
• Partner with Policy teams on legislative proposals impacting user safety and data disclosure
• Support investigations into Community Guidelines violations and advise on potential law enforcement referrals

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited university
• Active membership in at least one state bar
• 8+ years of proven legal experience, including advising clients and conducting legal research
• Extensive experience in statutory analysis and interpreting complex regulatory requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a criminal prosecutor or advising technology companies on law enforcement response and trust and safety
• Experience conducting criminal investigations into child sexual exploitation or Terms of Service violations
• Experience working in fast-paced environments involving groundbreaking legal and policy matters
