Associate General Counsel — Commercial Privacy (EMEA)

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted privacy adviser to sales and client teams regarding data protection issues affecting business and products.
• Drive complex commercial privacy negotiations, including data and ad inventory agreements, measurement deals, and strategic partnerships.
• Lead privacy support for procurement and vendor agreements, including the negotiation of vendor DPAs.
• Own and evolve the company's cross-border data transfer framework.
• Provide legal analysis on regional regulatory developments, including EU/UK GDPR and APAC frameworks.
• Design and oversee privacy regulatory monitoring programs to translate developments into practical business guidance.
• Contribute to the development of privacy processes, playbooks, and templates to ensure consistent support.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice law in England or an EU jurisdiction.
• 6+ years of relevant post-qualification legal experience.
• Substantial experience negotiating and drafting sophisticated data and privacy terms for high-value commercial contracts.
• Deep expertise in GDPR, UK Data (Use and Access) Act, ePrivacy, and cross-border international data transfer requirements.
• Ability to provide pragmatic, business-friendly advice in ambiguous and fast-moving environments.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in advertising technology (AdTech), digital advertising, identity, or measurement sectors.
• Familiarity with APAC privacy laws.
