About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee a litigation and enforcement unit focused on researching, investigating, and prosecuting illegal and deceptive business practices
- Manage investigative and trial work, including proceedings before OATH and in State court
- Lead enforcement of specific laws including the Safe Hotels Act and regulations regarding funeral homes and automated employment decision-making tools
- Direct strategy to enforce Truth in Pricing Law, including restrictions on dynamic and surveillance pricing
- Monitor market supply fluctuations and implement Price Gouging Rules during States of Emergency
- Provide legal counseling to other divisions regarding licensing laws, rules, and legislation drafting
- Supervise and oversee a team of attorneys to ensure efficient performance and professional development
Requirements
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- Four years of recent full-time relevant legal experience
- Eighteen months of experience in a supervisory, managerial, or executive capacity
- Membership in the New York State Bar in good standing
