About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide proactive, practical legal advice on global employment matters including hiring, compensation, and wage and hour compliance
- Review and enhance company policies, handbooks, and employment agreements to support global scaling
- Lead and refine internal investigations processes and protocols
- Manage internal and external threat assessment and mitigation strategies for trade secrets and IP
- Drive legal and operational strategy for international growth and global mobility
- Provide cross-functional guidance on product development, risk assessments, and government contract frameworks
Requirements
- J.D. degree
- Minimum 12+ years of employment law experience
- Deep knowledge of California employment law
- Proven track record of conducting complex internal investigations
- Licensed to practice law in California or eligible to register as In-House Counsel
- Experience in high-growth environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Mix of top-tier law firm and in-house experience
- Experience with global expansion and PEO/EOR frameworks
- Experience with trade secret litigation and government contracting
