About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive, practical legal advice on global employment matters including hiring, compensation, and wage and hour compliance
  • Review and enhance company policies, handbooks, and employment agreements to support global scaling
  • Lead and refine internal investigations processes and protocols
  • Manage internal and external threat assessment and mitigation strategies for trade secrets and IP
  • Drive legal and operational strategy for international growth and global mobility
  • Provide cross-functional guidance on product development, risk assessments, and government contract frameworks

Requirements

  • J.D. degree
  • Minimum 12+ years of employment law experience
  • Deep knowledge of California employment law
  • Proven track record of conducting complex internal investigations
  • Licensed to practice law in California or eligible to register as In-House Counsel
  • Experience in high-growth environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mix of top-tier law firm and in-house experience
  • Experience with global expansion and PEO/EOR frameworks
  • Experience with trade secret litigation and government contracting
