About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic and strategic leadership for the Sport Leadership and Administration undergraduate program, including curriculum innovation and long-range planning.
  • Serve as Director of the New Balance Institute for Innovative Leadership in Sport, advancing its mission and global impact.
  • Teach courses at the undergraduate and, where appropriate, graduate levels.
  • Maintain an active, high-impact research agenda relevant to sport leadership and administration.
  • Strengthen experiential learning through partnerships with professional, collegiate, and corporate sport organizations.
  • Advance equity-centered scholarship and programmatic initiatives to prepare students for diverse sport contexts.
  • Mentor and advise undergraduate students and early-career scholars.
  • Seek and obtain external resources through grants, contracts, and philanthropic gifts.

Requirements

  • Earned doctorate in sport leadership, administration, or a closely related discipline.
  • Tenured appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor by the time of appointment.
  • Sustained record of scholarly achievement with publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • National or international reputation in the field of sport leadership or administration.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and student mentoring.
  • Proven experience in academic program leadership or administration.
  • Demonstrated success in building external partnerships or industry collaboration.
  • Clear evidence of commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusive excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience directing or leading an academic center or institute.
  • Experience integrating experiential learning and workforce development into academic programs.
