About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage pilot plant operations, including formula development, ingredient optimization, and operating dairy manufacturing equipment.
- Execute laboratory testing such as shelf-life studies, microbiological evaluations, and sensory analysis.
- Lead product development by creating new recipes, modifying existing formulations, and conducting plant trials.
- Maintain laboratory and pilot plant equipment through regular cleaning, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Write technical reports regarding product evaluations, competitive analysis, and trial findings.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Sales, and Operations to ensure successful product launches.
- Manage inventory of ingredients and laboratory supplies to maintain an orderly work environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Biology, Dairy Science, or a related discipline.
- 2-3 years of experience in the food industry (experience with dairy, beverage, or cultured products is a plus).
- Proven track record in product or process development from plant trials to market execution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong interpersonal and project management skills to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant scientific field.
- Familiarity with SAP Architecture.
- Proficiency with Business Intelligence (BI) and advanced analytical tools such as PowerBI.
