Associate - Fire Protection Engineering

Responsibilities

• Perform professional-level fire protection engineering services including life safety code consulting, sprinkler design, and fire alarm design under the direction of a P.E.
• Develop plans, specifications, and inspection reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to professional standards.
• Assist in resolving design problems through field investigations, detailed design work, and checking design computations.
• Identify and reference applicable codes and standards to evaluate inquiries and project requirements.
• Conduct building code analyses, egress analyses, and reviews of fire detection, smoke control, and water supply systems.
• Apply engineering calculations for means of egress, maximum allowable building area, and hydraulic calculations for sprinkler systems.
• Communicate effectively with project team members, clients, and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or higher in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Civil, or Architectural Engineering (or a related engineering field).
• 0-3 years of experience in an engineering capacity.
• Effective written and oral communication skills for report writing, presentations, and client interaction.
• Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills with a self-starter mentality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong interest or previous experience specifically in fire protection engineering.
• A passion for advancing the science of safety and exceeding client expectations.
