Associate Factory Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow manufacturing operations for a large joinery division, overseeing a workforce of over 700 workers.
• Enhance production efficiency by proposing improvements, mechanization, and optimizing machining processes.
• Oversee daily shop floor activities, including production scheduling, work allocation, and workload monitoring.
• Drive continuous improvement and implement Lean manufacturing techniques to bring operations in line with European standards.
• Manage staff selection, performance, development, and training to ensure team competency.
• Coordinate with support functions such as Metal, Purchasing, Stores, Logistics, and Health & Safety.
• Resolve technical challenges and bottlenecks on the shop floor related to assembly, milling, veneer, polishing, and upholstery.

Requirements

• 10 to 15 years of experience in a factory management role within a large furniture or joinery manufacturing company.
• Proven experience managing a large-scale workforce (700+ employees).
• Deep technical knowledge of woodworking, joinery, case good construction, and various finishing methods.
• Strong understanding of modern production equipment, including CNC laser and machining.
• Expertise in Lean manufacturing techniques and capacity management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working in a multinational environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Experience with ERP systems is highly advantageous.
