Associate Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Own delivery outcomes for 1-2 teams of 6-15 engineers
• Manage people and career development through 1-on-1s and performance reviews
• Maintain engineering standards across backend, frontend, mobile, and QA teams
• Stay technically hands-on (approximately 30%) through code contributions and PR reviews
• Partner with Team Leads and Product Managers to define work and remove blockers
• Support system reliability and incident investigation

Requirements

• Strong software development background with backend expertise
• Experience with the Java ecosystem and distributed systems
• Emerging leadership experience as a Tech Lead or Team Lead
• Readiness or early experience in people management
• Strong delivery instincts and ability to track progress and identify risks
• Sound product sense and engineering judgment
• Strong English communication skills
