About the role
Responsibilities
- Support process development workstreams for regional innovation, renovation, quality improvement, and cost optimization projects.
- Conduct experimental production in pilot plants, Unilever factories, and contract manufacturers, including issuing trial reports.
- Collect and statistically interpret manufacturing data to propose scientifically sound next steps for process improvement.
- Support the commercialization of new products by monitoring and improving factory process capability.
- Employ fundamental engineering principles to troubleshoot processing issues and optimize production efficiency.
- Design products against briefs and execute test protocols for prototype development, scale-up, and analytical testing.
- Develop and refine processing specifications and prepare engineering documents such as equipment specs and process flow diagrams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Supply Chain, and Marketing to ensure business objectives are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
- 1-3 years of experience in food processing or chemical engineering (internship experience is preferred).
- Working knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, OneDrive, Excel) and other analytical tools.
- Strong technical project management skills with the ability to execute tasks of moderate complexity.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data and use root-cause analysis for problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic technical knowledge of food processing and scale-up procedures.
- Experience with SAP (Product Lifecycle Management) or other related specification systems.
- Understanding of ingredient use, formulation, and product design principles.
