Responsibilities

  • Assist senior engineers in the design of PCBAs for robotics systems
  • Create schematics for sub-circuits and perform PCB layout for simpler designs
  • Help maintain the component library by creating and verifying symbols and footprints
  • Support board bring-up activities, execute test plans, and troubleshoot hardware issues
  • Assist in preparing fabrication and assembly files (Gerbers, BOMs)
  • Work closely with Mechanical and Software engineering teams
  • Communicate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field
  • Experience designing, building, and testing electronics through projects or internships
  • Knowledge of Power Electronics (buck/boost converters, LDOs, motor drivers)
  • Knowledge of Digital Electronics (MCU, SPI, I2C, UART)
  • Knowledge of Analog Electronics (Op-amps, filters, sensing circuits)
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer, KiCad, or Eagle
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and soldering irons
  • Ability to troubleshoot bugs and document findings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Robotics
  • Experience with Python or MATLAB for data analysis
  • Exposure to Embedded C/C++ programming
  • Familiarity with simulation tools like LTspice
  • Participation in student competitions like Formula SAE or Robotics Club
  • Exposure to high-speed interfaces (USB, Ethernet) or camera systems
  • Understanding of rigid-flex or HDI PCB concepts
