Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers in the design of PCBAs for robotics systems
- Create schematics for sub-circuits and perform PCB layout for simpler designs
- Help maintain the component library by creating and verifying symbols and footprints
- Support board bring-up activities, execute test plans, and troubleshoot hardware issues
- Assist in preparing fabrication and assembly files (Gerbers, BOMs)
- Work closely with Mechanical and Software engineering teams
- Communicate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field
- Experience designing, building, and testing electronics through projects or internships
- Knowledge of Power Electronics (buck/boost converters, LDOs, motor drivers)
- Knowledge of Digital Electronics (MCU, SPI, I2C, UART)
- Knowledge of Analog Electronics (Op-amps, filters, sensing circuits)
- Proficiency with Altium Designer, KiCad, or Eagle
- Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and soldering irons
- Ability to troubleshoot bugs and document findings
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Robotics
- Experience with Python or MATLAB for data analysis
- Exposure to Embedded C/C++ programming
- Familiarity with simulation tools like LTspice
- Participation in student competitions like Formula SAE or Robotics Club
- Exposure to high-speed interfaces (USB, Ethernet) or camera systems
- Understanding of rigid-flex or HDI PCB concepts
