About the role
Responsibilities
- Support hardware, firmware, and software development of electro-optical systems at the Starfire Optical Range.
- Use and troubleshoot electronic circuitry with devices such as voltmeters, DMMs, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- Gather requirements, develop designs, create schematics and layouts, and maintain boards/systems in cooperation with customers.
- Create and maintain documentation for architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and digital/system designs.
- Provide electrical constraint information for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout and support.
- Set up and configure test environments for embedded systems and troubleshoot firmware/software issues.
- Develop test procedures and document results to ensure embedded system requirements are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
- 2+ years of experience with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design.
- 1+ years of experience programming in C or C++.
- 1+ years of experience programming in Java or Python.
- Ability to work variable shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of related work experience.
- Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
- Experience with integrated CAD tools such as OrCAD or PADS.
- Proficiency in AMD/Xilinx Vitis and Vivado IDE.
- Experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation including specifications, BOMs, and ECOs.
- Experience with various testing methodologies (black box, white box, integration, and system testing).
- Experience in performance analysis using tools such as MATLAB or Mathematica.
