Associate Director - Vertical Transportation

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist Vertical Transportation (VT) design and supervision services across a wide range of built-environment projects.
• Conduct detailed traffic analysis using industry-standard VT simulation and performance-analysis software to optimize system efficiency.
• Develop technical design proposals, reports, and engineering rationale for client-facing recommendations.
• Provide comprehensive site supervision, including inspection and acceptance testing of complex VT installations.
• Review and approve specialist contractor submissions, including shop drawings, method statements, and O&M manuals.
• Coordinate VT interfaces with IT, Telecom, ELV, and Security systems to ensure seamless building integration.
• Liaise with multidisciplinary teams (Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical) and local authorities to secure project approvals.
• Monitor site progress and prepare weekly VT progress reports highlighting milestones, risks, and constraints.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years of proven experience in VT design, installation, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
• Expert knowledge of VT codes and standards, specifically the EN81 suite and ASME A17.1.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and associated VT design and documentation software.
• Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to guide teams and influence stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Exceptional communication skills for managing professional engagements with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• Ability to work on-site with flexible hours based on project demands.
