Associate Director/Technical Director – Facade

Responsibilities

• Lead façade design across concept, schematic, detailed design, and construction stages.
• Develop innovative design strategies influencing geometry, performance, and sustainability.
• Provide expert guidance on curtain wall systems, unitised façades, glazing, and cladding.
• Oversee thermal, structural, fire, acoustic, and energy performance analyses.
• Ensure compliance with Middle East codes and international standards (ASTM, BS, EN, NFPA).
• Lead multidisciplinary coordination with architects, structural, and MEP engineering teams.
• Manage commercial elements including pricing, forecasting, margins, and fee negotiations.
• Support regional growth by identifying new business opportunities and supporting RFPs.
• Build and lead a high-performing façade engineering team through mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Façade, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
• 15-20 years of façade engineering experience.
• Significant experience delivering major projects within the Middle East.
• Proven track record with high-rise towers and complex geometry façades.
• Strong understanding of building physics, sustainability, and fire safety.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience with P&L or budget ownership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng, PE, or equivalent) status.
