About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and assess comprehensive wellness and prevention initiatives for students to ensure high-quality, developmentally appropriate programming.
  • Oversee the Wellness Education and Prevention Program, including peer education and student engagement efforts.
  • Implement evidence-informed initiatives addressing alcohol and drug use, sexual health, emotional well-being, nutrition, and sleep.
  • Supervise staff and student employees, managing hiring, training, performance management, and professional development.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including the Health & Counseling Center, to maintain the impact of wellness efforts.
  • Manage operational and programming budgets and use data to shape strategic planning and policy development.
  • Oversee student wellness communications, including digital content, social media, and campus campaigns.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in public health, health promotion, health education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in public health theory and behavioral change models.
  • Experience with environmental management strategies.
  • Strong organizational, critical-thinking, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of professional experience in higher education health promotion.
  • Prior supervisory experience with progressive growth.
  • Experience in student peer training, campus-wide program assessment, and evaluation.
  • Experience in grant writing, task force management, or sexual violence prevention and survivor advocacy.
  • CHES or MCHES certification.
