Associate Director - Student Services

Responsibilities

• Manage daily academic operations for assigned athletic teams and supervise academic staff, including an Assistant Director and Graduate Assistant
• Serve as the lead academic advisor for the football team
• Act as the Athletic Department Assistance Program (ADAP) liaison for confidential meetings with sports psychology, counseling, and medical staff
• Develop academic plans to ensure degree completion and monitor student-athlete eligibility in accordance with SEC and NCAA regulations
• Communicate student-athlete progress, grades, and eligibility status to coaches, admissions, and compliance departments
• Facilitate the transfer evaluation process and provide academic support for prospective recruits
• Formulate academic success plans and provide mentorship for student-athletes experiencing academic difficulty
• Oversee graduation processes and manage the Academic Progress Rate (APR) for assigned teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in post-secondary education
• Comprehensive knowledge of NCAA and SEC academic regulations
• Proven leadership and personnel management skills
• Strong conflict resolution, project management, and human relations skills
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities
• Ability to work irregular hours, including nights and some weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree with at least 5 years of post-secondary education experience
• Advanced degree in counseling, social work, student development, higher education, psychology, or a related field
