About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as deputy director of sports performance, supporting administration and building relationships with head coaches and student-athletes.
  • Develop and implement year-round educational programs regarding strength, speed, conditioning, nutrition, and regeneration.
  • Conduct individual and group instruction in strength, speed, and conditioning training activities.
  • Coordinate, implement, and evaluate student-athlete performance testing.
  • Consult with University sports medicine staff regarding injury prevention, rehabilitation, and nutrition.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and orderly environment during all training activities.
  • Assist in the hiring, training, and management of student interns.
  • Perform other instructional duties and administrative tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or a related field.
  • Two years of directly related club or collegiate Division I experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Strength Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) designation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in exercise science or a related field.
  • Equivalent education and/or professional experience.
