Associate Director, Sales

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a portfolio of pharma, biotech, and tech accounts from prospecting through close
• Maintain a structured sales pipeline using CRM tools like HubSpot
• Lead end-to-end commercial negotiations including scoping, pricing, and contract terms
• Partner with legal, finance, and science teams to structure deals
• Meet and exceed annual revenue targets for the Small Molecule Services portfolio
• Represent Ginkgo Datapoints at industry conferences and scientific forums
• Conduct competitive landscape analysis to identify growth opportunities
• Serve as a scientific resource for customers to translate data offerings into commercial propositions

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Chemical Biology, Cell Biology, or related life sciences field
• 3–7 years of experience in scientific roles or commercial roles/BD/management consulting within life sciences
• Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot) and AI productivity tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT)
• Willingness to travel approximately 20–30%

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated success in business development and navigating complex sales cycles
• Hands-on familiarity with ADME assays or functional genomics approaches
