Associate Director, Research Ethics & Integrity

Responsibilities

• Lead and provide strategic oversight of operations in the management of the Research Ethics team
• Ensure teaching and research protocols comply with Legislative and Regulatory requirements
• Provide authoritative, institution-wide strategic advice and set policy direction for research ethics and integrity
• Set governance frameworks for research on Indigenous land, use of animals, human participants, and bio-hazardous materials
• Design and deliver a high performing team culture through education and training

Requirements

• Relevant Postgraduate Qualification in research or equivalent experience in tertiary higher education or research-intensive environments
• Significant knowledge of Australian higher education research governance and compliance (NHMRC, ARC)
• Extensive management experience with ability to lead and motivate significant teams
• Experience conducting or overseeing assessments and investigations under a procedural fairness framework
• Capability to lead the integrity function operationally, including staff supervision and case management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with biosafety governance and reporting obligations to funders
