Associate Director - Platform Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery and governance for the Platform Engineering workstream
• Support and develop Platform Engineers by providing technical direction and guidance
• Build and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and environment automation
• Define best practices for infrastructure as code, security, monitoring, and observability
• Act as the primary escalation point for platform risks and blockers
• Build trusted relationships with client engineering and architecture stakeholders
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to set standards for quality and delivery

Requirements

• Proven ability to lead platform engineering workstreams on large, complex programs
• Deep experience designing and operating secure cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure
• Strong background in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering in a consulting context
• Proficiency in Terraform and infrastructure-as-code modular design
• Experience with CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AKS
• Experience designing decoupled microservices and event-driven architectures
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and identity management
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Databricks on Azure
• Experience with security and compliance frameworks like ISO 27001 or SOC 2
• In-depth experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub Advanced Security
• Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert or HashiCorp Terraform Associate certifications
