About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert to help donors maximize charitable impact through sophisticated assets and tax-efficient gift planning
- Develop impactful relationships with donors considering gifts such as real estate, retirement accounts, life insurance, and charitable trusts
- Act as a resource for donors, professional advisors, and internal stakeholders regarding complex charitable giving
- Engage in significant local and national travel to personally connect with prospective donors
- Support the University's mission through strategic gift solicitation and relationship management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Four years of experience in development, fundraising, financial planning, estate planning, or accounting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability and willingness to manage a significant travel schedule, including overnight travel
- Valid driver's license and a low-risk driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Law degree or Master's degree
- Five or more years of experience in law, financial services, or professional fundraising
- Direct experience managing gifts of complex assets
- Proven track record of developing and executing multi-channel communication plans
- Demonstrated success in building long-term relationships with clients or donors
