Associate Director, Planned Giving

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert to help donors maximize charitable impact through sophisticated assets and tax-efficient gift planning
• Develop impactful relationships with donors considering gifts such as real estate, retirement accounts, life insurance, and charitable trusts
• Act as a resource for donors, professional advisors, and internal stakeholders regarding complex charitable giving
• Engage in significant local and national travel to personally connect with prospective donors
• Support the University's mission through strategic gift solicitation and relationship management

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Four years of experience in development, fundraising, financial planning, estate planning, or accounting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability and willingness to manage a significant travel schedule, including overnight travel
• Valid driver's license and a low-risk driving record

Preferred Qualifications

• Law degree or Master's degree
• Five or more years of experience in law, financial services, or professional fundraising
• Direct experience managing gifts of complex assets
• Proven track record of developing and executing multi-channel communication plans
• Demonstrated success in building long-term relationships with clients or donors
