Associate Director of Residence Life

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for the residential student experience and community building models.
• Supervise Assistant Directors directly and provide second-level supervision for Hall Directors.
• Lead staff development, performance management, and professional accountability processes.
• Collaborate with the Residence Life Director on strategic planning, assessment, and departmental reporting.
• Oversee operational processes, departmental documentation, and the implementation of engagement strategies.
• Participate in on-call crisis response and provide guidance on student support initiatives.
• Serve as a key member of the Residence Life Leadership team and act as Director in their absence.

Requirements

• Master's degree.
• 5 years of related professional experience.
• Proven experience in staff supervision and leadership.
• Experience with strategic planning and program assessment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field.
• Significant professional experience in university housing or residence life.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams through organizational change.
• Strong ability to manage complex student and staff situations and build collaborative partnerships.
