Associate Director of Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineering teams across Platform, DevOps, Database, and Java backend
• Define long-term architecture vision, engineering roadmap, and team scalability plans
• Own high-level and low-level system design for distributed microservices using Python and Java
• Drive AWS workload design, Kubernetes orchestration, and cloud cost optimization
• Oversee performance and scaling for PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, and RabbitMQ
• Champion secure SDLC, zero-trust engineering, and fintech regulatory compliance
• Represent Engineering in client calls, technical escalations, and roadmap discussions

Requirements

• 12+ years of engineering experience with 5+ years in leadership roles
• Proven track record designing and scaling distributed microservices-based systems
• Deep expertise in Python (FastAPI), Java (Spring Boot), and REST APIs
• Strong experience with Kubernetes (EKS), AWS, and DevSecOps practices
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Redis
• Experience with high-throughput data pipelines and CDC
• Background in fintech or other regulated industries
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in enterprise architecture
• Experience supporting PCI DSS, ISO27001, SOC2, or GDPR controls
• Experience scaling high-growth SaaS or multi-tenant cloud platforms
• Background from a Tier 1 college or a Product company (SaaS/Fintech)
